The C2C Global Education Japan web site (hereinafter referred to as “Site”) is overseen by C2C Global Education Japan (hereinafter referred to as “C2CGEJ”) and its representatives. Please read the following privacy policy carefully before using the Site. If you do not agree to be bound by these privacy policies, please promptly exit the Site. Users who use and participate in the Site (hereinafter referred to as “User”) signify that they have read these privacy policies and agree to be bound by and comply with them.
C2CGEJ reserves the right to amend these privacy policies at any time without notice. Please confirm the newest privacy policy before using the Site.
Protection of Personal Data
C2CGEJ will take the following necessary measures to a reasonable extent to protect the personal data of Users who have accessed the Site.
Collection of Personal Data
C2CGEJ will collect personal data from Users to the extent that is necessary for C2CGEJ to improve its services. C2CGEJ will only use personal data for the purposes for which C2CGEJ has collected it. C2CGEJ will also only collect personal data in a manner that is lawful and fair.
C2CGEJ will not collect the User’s personally-identifiable information (name, address, phone number, or e-mail address) that the User does not voluntarily provide when accessing the Site.
Furthermore, C2CGEJ may request personal information from the User such as name, address, or e-mail address for the purpose of sending information about C2CGEJ via messaging services or post. There may be cases in which Users cannot receive information or services from C2CGEJ without providing personally-identifiable information.
Management and Storage of Personal Data
As the data controller of the personal data provided by Users, C2CGEJ will manage the personal data in an appropriate manner. C2CGEJ will make reasonable efforts in security measures to help protect against the loss, destruction, misuse, alteration, or leak of the User’s personal data, as well as unauthorized access from third-parties or computer viruses.
Usage of Personal Data
C2CGEJ will only use User data for the purposes for which it is collected and do so in accordance to this privacy policy.
Non-personally identifiable aggregate information (browser type, geographical location, age group, and so forth) will be used for analytical purposes to improve our services, build a better Site, as well as other legitimate purposes.
C2CGEJ may store and process personally identifiable information in order to understand how to improve C2CGEJ’s services and educational operations.
C2CGEJ may contact Users in regards to the usage of their personal data. For that purpose, C2CGEJ may retain personal data in its database.
When the User provides personal information and C2CGEJ obtains consent from the User, C2CGEJ or third party service providers of C2CGEJ, may send information via email or other methods. If a User does not wish to receive such communications from us, the User may opt out of receiving notifications by informing C2CGEJ.

C2CGEJ will only use personal data provided by Users for the purpose for which it was collected. Furthermore, personal data will only be shared with third parties for the specified purpose of which it was collected.
When personal data provided by Users is shared with a third party, C2CGEJ will strive to prevent the leak or redistribution of User personal data (except for special circumstances) by third parties through reasonable methods such as contracts.
However, C2CGEJ may disclose a User’s personal data to a third party if we are under a duty to disclose or share the User’s personal data in order to comply with legal obligations, or any of the following purposes in which C2CGEJ has deemed necessary to disclose information.
- To comply with requests from public organizations made to C2CGEJ or the operators of the Site
- To protect and defend the rights and property of C2CGEJ faculty, staff, and students
- To take action immediately for the purpose of ensuring the safety of C2CGEJ faculty, staff, students, and the general public
Access, Correction, Deletion of Personal Data
When there is a request from the User, C2CGEJ will allow access of the User’s own personal data and comply with the User’s request as soon as reasonably practical. However, C2CGEJ may not allow access if it has been determined by C2CGEJ that it may infringe upon the rights of a third person or that it may result in a considerable obstruction to the operations of C2CGEJ.
The decision to allow access or not will be made with consideration of how it will affect the teaching operations of our academic institutions.
If the User requests to correct or delete their own personal data, C2CGEJ will correct or delete the User’s personal data as soon as possible after looking into the circumstances surrounding the request.
Compliance with Legal Obligations and Continual Revisions
C2CGEJ will do its best to continuously revise and amend this privacy policy in compliance with the personal information protection laws of Japan, as well as other applicable rules.
Jurisdiction
This privacy policy shall be governed by the law of Japan (national laws and treaties). Kofu District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction of the first instance in all disputes arising from the usage of this Site.
Revisions
C2CGEJ will continue to revise and amend the privacy policies mentioned above whenever appropriate.
